Welcome!

Shree Vishwakarma Association of America

It was a cold wintry day in the month of January 1990 when the Shree Vishwakarma Association of America came into existence. Even though it did not snow on that particular day, it was bitter cold outside. Inside one of the many houses of New Jersey, however, a small group of people with very warm hearts were convening. The meeting was established to discuss a method in which we may unite not only our community in the U.S.A, but to assist our fellow community affiliations in India.

It is over 16 years now and we strongly believe that we have made considerable progress. We started our association with a total of 95 members and today we have over 200 listed members throughout the U.S.A. Moreover, I am certain that there are many additional families who are not aware of our association. I am looking forward to meeting and inviting them to our future functions.

As mentioned earlier, one of our primary goal of our association is to provide support to our fellow organizations in India. We have donated to the various associations in India, From Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Consequently, these donations were used to grant educational and medical aid to those who were in need. Furthermore, we have assisted in certain emergency situations. For example, just after the city of Pune(State of Maharastra) was routed by an earthquake, we contributed large amount of money and clothing.

On a lighter note, I am sure that we all agree that the association has brought our community much closer. Be it through personal meetings or via phone calls, we have become better acquainted, and even formed new friendships.

Our Association has also expanded to encompass several regions of the United States. We have established three regional committees/Vice presidents in the Southern, Central, and Western portions of the U.S., North Carolina, Illinois, and California, respectively. Likewise, the California based groups have established their own Association on our original By-Laws.

Presently, We are conducting two to four executive board meetings and one to three  general meetings a year.

We will also continue having Summer picnics, Diwali functions and Vishwakarma Jayanti annually.

I am confident that our members will support our community activities. In addition, I am certain that our members will donate their time and money generously whenever necessary in order for us to achieve goals.

In closing, I would like to thank all of our board members for working hard and their time for our community, and also to all our members for their support.

We continue to look forward your cooperation and generous support. This is everyone's association.

Thank you.
