Message from the President…………
In my role as President of Vishwakarma Association of USA, I am honored to be a part of our organization that not only cares for the people in our community in America but also in India.
We entered our 17th year with a commitment of our by-laws especially as they relate to transparency and commitment by our board members to help guide our way to success. Our commitment to our members and their families is to exceed their expectations by providing various cultural activities around the year such as the celebration of Vishwakarma Jayanti, the summer picnic, Diwali celebration, and trip to religious or entertainment providing locations.
Our youth association headed under Douglas Panchal has progressed greatly. Their objectives are to empower potential young leaders in our community to enable them to take an active role in their personal, academic and professional lives.
According to Hindu mythology, Viswakarma built 'Sone ki Lanka' or Golden Lanka where Ravana kept Sita, Lord Ram's wife as a hostage and Viswakarma built the Dwarka, the capital of Lord Krishna. During the time of the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna is said to have lived in Dwarka, and made it his "Karma Bhoomi" or center of operation. We are not planning to build Lanka or Dwarka but to build a bridge of cultural, financial and physical ties to the people of our community here and across the sea.
We donated 25,000 Rupees to Nukunj Chandrakantbhai Mistry of Valsad for a Coma operation. The surgery was successful. In the past, we have helped various associations in India financially and we will be continuing to do so in the future.
A sad story of Virginia Tech shooting took a life of our community member Miss Minal Panchal. Members of our association pray for their families and friends.
We are in process of re-structuring regional committees and their leaders all over the United States so that they can guide the people in their community to achieve goals and objectives those set-up by our association. Mr. Thakorbhai Mistry of Maryland has invited our association representative as well as the representative of Canada and California to discuss a combined event in the future.
Finally I would like to thanks all our board members and members of our association who contribute their valuable time and money to achieve our goals and objectives. Special thanks to Dr. Kishorbhai Mistry, Rakesh Mistry, Kamlesh Gajjar, Rashikbhai Panchal and Kamal Panchal who worked very hard to published this directory. Bharatbhai Panchal and Thakorbhai Bulsara contributed their valuable time to organizing the tours. Lastly, how can we forget Nita Panchal who organized our Vishwakarma Jaynti year after year.
Thank you.
Gatubhai Mistry
